Post 10 : English Language Challenges

Hi bloggers on this post I am going to talk about my progress on English courses. Well about the use of blogs I think, it is a modern method of teaching, because first of all we need a computer and second because without internet we couldn't publish our post and I feel with the use of this, I can progress with my vocabulary and redaction, because sometimes, I have all the ideas on my mind but write this results very difficult so this method had been of great help. Even more the teacher checks the answer and if you are wrong, she sends you the correct post and this form, I can see what is the more difficult things for me, so I hope this method continue in the future, because it’s very efficient and practical and in my personal situation, at first of the English classes I took more time to write one of this. Nevertheless I need improved my listening compression because sometime I don’t find differences between one word and other, so for improved this I could see movies without Spanish subtitles and use English subtitles for compare that I listen with the real idea, and check if I am good or bad.

In my day to day, I don’t practice my oral English with other persons, so I think I must do it, but I listening music in English and see movies in English too, so I always have in contact with this idiom because I like this and I hope learn this to achieve fluent English.

Post 9 : Changes to my study program

Hi bloggers on this post I am going to talk about my study program at the university. Forestry have a duration of five years and I think this career must be consider six years, because, in my opinion we have subjects with so much contents that we need study more specific but we see this during five or six months so the information is absolutely general. In the same way we have subjects from my point of view, unnecessary, like personal development because something I use important time to study for a test about other subjects more important.

Well I am disagreeing with other things too.  For example I would like that the university consider more subjects about wildlife, because we have just one area for this, during just  four classes and just on the first years, so we don’t see anything about this big world of animals. I would like have a subject just for fauna during one or two semester.

Respect to the faculty facilities, I don’t have too much to say about this, but I have one complaint about classroom, because something don’t exists space for all the students on a class, so we need bigger classroom  and at the same time we need computers that work well. Something we have computers without mouse, keyboard or just don’t turn on. The rest of the university is very homely to be relaxing after a test, with trees, grass and dogs.

I hope the program study would work better in the future.

Summer Holidays!!!

Hi bloggers, today I am going to talk about my summer holidays!!! The best date of the year. When you forget all the things associated with university, homework and study. My plans for this holidays begin in February because part of January I have a practice for the university for two weeks approximately and my partner finish her studies in January.

I am planning go to the “Carretera austral” with my friends of all my life, Joaquina. We always travel together. So, we are planning begin the backpack in Puerto Montt and then discovery all the things that the Carretera Austral and the south of Chile have prepared for us. We want discovery “Coyhaique”, “Chile chico”, “Catedral de Marmol”, etc. we pretend too, visit National parks. This is the only thing that I have planned, the rest of things we seen in the moment. But I am sure I didn’t spend my holidays in Santiago. The city on summer is a torture, more than normal. I enjoy the city at night when you can drink, dance and go to parties with your friends, no matter what day is, you can go Mondays, Tuesday, Saturday, any day, because don’t exist the alarm for the other day and you   don´t have some homework for the university so, summer holidays are just enjoy jaja. I love be relaxing and carefree with all the time to do the things that I want!

Astronomy

Hi! Today I am going to talk about astronomy. Well, I think this topic is very interesting, because the galaxy don’t have limits, for example,  when I go to any place I really enjoy see the sky at the night, I feel very quiet and relaxed thinking many thinks like: if exist life in the space? Is the galaxy infinite? Or sometimes I just reckon how many shooting stars I can see.  At the same time the astronomy is very enigmatic, exist many things that we don’t know or we never have seen. For example, exist  a theory about the white hole, a region of space where matter and energy escape into another dimension, something like the opposite to black hole where the matter is absorbed.  So I think these things are very interesting. 

The astronomical observatories, is other things that I find interesting, because you can see the space with professional tool. I have never visited one of this, but In Chile exist many observatories that you can visit with friends, family, or with your university. This astronomical observatory, are located in the north of Chile, Atacama, you can visit this with a free ticket but you must buy it in advance. This places permit you see things like the center of the galaxy and the big and small cloud of Magallanes.  So I hope visit this sometime in my life and learn more about this wonderful world.

My future job

Hi bloggers, today I’m going to talk about my future job. Well I always had wanted study something related to nature and animals, so when I must choose my career, I decide study forestry, and the first thing I think was: “I am going to travel a lot”. This sentence was the base for my decision including my interest for learns about the ecosystem, plants, animals and the biodiversity. So undoubtedly I want work outdoors, where the nature is in contact with me because I don’t like the idea of work in an office, at least, not for all my working day.

My dream for my future is travel a lot, discovery many amazing places, cultures, flora and fauna. Maybe not necessarily work immediately after to finish the career, because I will have twenty four years and for me it is a great age to travel around the world. Then of this I want keep learning other areas that I like, like graphic art, practice some deport, live at many places and then get a permanent work oriented to the conservation of biodiversity area or social area like forest services. I want work in the indicated place that I choose to live for the rest of my life. So I hope know use the learning tools that forestry give me and realize my dream.

National Parks

Hi bloggers, today I’m going to talk about national parks. In my opinion this places are very important to the world because protect animals, vegetation, purify the air and water, so we must be grateful with them.

 On my life I have visited many national parks, like “Vicente Perez Rosales”, “Alerce Andino”, “Conguillio”, “ampa del Tamarugal”, etc. and each of this have different weater, vegetation and attractive things. For example, at national park “Vicente Perez Rosales”, located in Llanquihue, count with temperatures very comfortably and have a beautiful and colorfull (blue or green) lake, but on the other hand, at the national park “Pampa del Tamarugal”, located in Tarapacá, is only dessert, so the temperatures are very hot and the place very dry; “Tamarugo” (Prosopis tamarugo) is the only tree that can grow there. This tree has very deep roots to find groundwater.  However, I always said that national reserve “Mocho Choshuenco” is the best reserv that I visited, located near Valdivia. The attractive of this place is the mountain and a beautiful glacier; you can climb the mountain and drink the best water of the glacier. Although national park “Conguillio” is lovly too, because you can see many “Araucarias” (Araucaria araucana) and woodpeckers.

So I think visit national park is a great option for your life.

Films

HI! Today I’m going to talk about films. Well, when i have time at the night, I enjoy see movies and series until very late. For example when we had with student mobilizations at the university I had free time to see series, I saw “breaking bad “ and “Vikingos”  both complete, I couldn’t stop jaja because this two series are very interesting  and  unpredictable.  My favorite films, is “Los Miserables”, it is a musical dramatic film in the UK and France in 2012, directed for Tom Hooper, a British director, writer and film producer. On this movie acting many greats actors like Hugh Jackman, Rossell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.  I love this movie because the drama was history and content like the French Revolution and the films conveys an important message at the final of history. In addition, this film is based on a good book.

On the other hand I like see movies on cinemas more independents or alternatives, for example, frequently I am going to “Normandie” because here I can see documental s or cultural movies and no Hollywood movies. Also this cinema made special offers or 2x1 so is very attractive for young people and even for old people.

holidays!

Hi bloggers today I’m going to talk about my best holiday. Well, is very difficult decide one so I choose the best of the best. When i was 18 years old I trip for first time like a "backpacker" with two friends. We visit the south of Chile from Puerto Montt till more to the south. I met many beautiful places like national park Mocho-choshuenco located in Valdivia, this place was very important for me and for these holidays, because there I feel really disconnected with all the world, and I met a lot of people from Belgica and Brazil and I could learn many things that they like or do on his country and I showed them typical things of Chile. Besides, I stay there for 4 days just because we didn't have more food and the supermarket was very very long from us, but if I can go there again with more food, I go immediately.

On the other hand I really like this form of holidays because I can know how to survive just with my backpack and discovery news adventures.

Today I’m going to talk about myself. Well, my name is Romina Medel, I am twenty one years old. I am studying forest engineering and I like this carrer. I live in Santiago but in the future I hope to live in the south of Chile. On the other hand, I want to get better in listening exercises on English because sometimes I can’t understand what word  ais being said saying specifically and I confuse with other similar word, so I hope to be better with this but sometimes too, when I have oral interaction I can understand very well.

Blog experience

Well, after a long time on strike, we are here writing the last post for now. I think this system is very useful, because just writing 100 words, I can detect what things are more difficult for me and what things results more common for write. In addition, the topics are interesting to write and this allows express your tastes, interests and opinions. I must admit that I had never used a blog and in a lower case, in English, so it is totally new for me. 

I think too, it is a modern method of teaching, because first of all we need a computer and second because without internet we couldn't publish our post.

Subjects and university

hi bloggers, today is a really boring day, because i must study too much and I just wanna sleep for two or three days :( and for these reason I decided write about the subjects that I have on the university. well, first I wanna tell you that I have many practical activities and it is very interesting, funny and different, because we go to places to see forests, volcano, rivers, mountains and animals to learn more that we learn on the classmates and I love it. On the other hand, I have the worst subject of my life... MATHEMATICS, I hate this, but I must learn this or die jaja.

In general all the subjects are good, but the same time all the subject have many many contents. For example in growth and development of trees I need to study so much because when the teacher take a test, makes many and hard questions. Even sometimes I have three tests in one or two days so I have to study very hard. I enjoy study three subjects at the moment: growth and development of trees, forest product and service and structure and functioning of ecosystems so I am very happy with this career.

Pets

Hi bloggers:  today I will write about a topic very important for me, the pets, because I really love so much the animals and I think the dogs, more specific, are  great for the personal development,  even it is like a therapy for some persons.

Today I have a dog, she is a Cocker Spanish and her name is candy. She has eight years old and she looks like a dog of two years jaja and all my family love her. When we go to any place on holidays, we always go with her, she really love travel around the world and his favorite action is swim in lakes or rivers and sleep under the sun. She is very happy with us.

For other hand I feel very angry with the persons and with the society respect the pets, because every day a new dog is living on the street, without food, water and love just because they are not responsible with what means have a dog and I think these persons must be sanctioned.

I really love give help to the dogs on the street and if I will have more space at home, I will have many many dogs.

A Career-Related Website

Hi bloggers, today I will write about a career-related website that I like visit. This is the website of CONAF. The website has different sections to talk about the forest fire and the form of combat this; to talk about the national parks and to talk about environmental investigation or news.

 I visit this because I like read information about the environment. For example, when I want to know information about the national parks to visit, I just search the name of this park and I can know his location and what things I can found in that place.

Other information that I like to read is about flora and fauna, on this topic I can know the species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction or the grade of conservation.

I sometimes visit this, especially when I have holidays and I can travel without preoccupation or when I need made some homework for the university so I think it is very important for the forestry.

Photography and moments

Hi bloggers, now I going to write about the importance of photos. In my opinion I think this is a good implement to capture different moments and then remember this just looking the picture, for example I really enjoy see the pictures when I was more young or more funny when my mother or dad were young  jajaja . In addition I think the photography is very important for understand how was the life in another time and know how this persons live, eat, or how their used his clothes. But on another hand I think exist people that take a picture his self in excess and I don’t think this picture is for save moments necessarily. 

Other opinion is in relation to the professional photography because I really admire them persons and his capacity for see where they can take a really good picture and can express a lot of things.  

Beautiful food.

Hi today I will write about the best topic of the world jaja , the food. The food is the most important thing for each person but so much people think this is everything and people become overweight.

By my side, I really enjoy the food and I can eat and eat and eat and don’t gain weight, so this is a really good panorama jaja.  When I decide prepare something to eat, I like include condiments, especially Merquén, on the other hand I hate the meat (red meat) I think that´s disgusting! As well as the milk, these two things are disgusting for me; I can’t eat or drink this for any reason so I must consume this proteins or vitamins on other food.

When I buy food, I like eat pizza, especially when the pizza include mushroom and many tomato sauce.  Well write this post made me hungry so I going to eat something. Bye bloggers!.

My favourite piece of technology.

Hello Bloggers: today I will write about the technology and how I live with this. I thinks the technology is good for actions more immediately, for example we can paid a bed with just a click, but on the other hand I think it is very bad, because people are obsess with technology and more specific with applications like WhatsApp, this application for cellphone couldn´t be good because the "real communication" between people could be end so I disagree with the use of this application or other in excess. In my case, I enjoy use YouTube because with this I can watch music videos, series, or movies every time I want and the best thing is listen to full CD of different artist. I usually too, use my computer to study or read books.

Why did you choose your career?

Hi, I decide to study Forestry because I like the environment so much, I like animals, plants, trees, mountains, rivers, etc. and with this career I can understand how these components interact, besides l like travel around the world and discover new places.  However when I had on primary I wanted study dental science or odontology just because I like biology and this option stay on my mind for a short time, then I was really sure about what I want for my life and I applied on the Universidad de Chile on 2014 so I have so much happy for stay on this university and have studing this career, the election don’t have difficult for me so I have calm and sure.

my autobiography

Hi, I am going to write about some other information about myself.  My birthday is on June 10, so every year it is very cold because it is just in winter. I have been always living in Santiago and before the university, on secondary, I studied in Liceo 1 Javiera Carrera schools, then I enter  to study at the Universidad de Chile.  I love my family; we are four, my mom, dad, brother and me. We like so much travel and meet very places. I have a loooooooooot cousins and uncles, and each family reunion we had a good time with many food and beers.
